Want to Start Writing? Here Are Things You Don’t Need to Get Started

The barrier of entry to writing is relatively low. Actually, it’s just a computer and a note taking document (or a pen and paper).

Here are things you don’t need to get your writing practice started:

  • Perfect syntax and grammar—typos happen
  • Expensive writing tools and software
  • A fancy writing course or a writing degree (do those exist?)
  • Inspiration. Most people use this one as a reason to delay rather than a reason to start writing

If anything on this list is a reason why you haven’t started writing content for yourself, please reconsider it. I assure you, you’ll do just fine without.
