Below is a story of what marketing can do for a small business.
A few months ago, our restaurant was picked out of thousands around us to represent the city’s Top 50 spots.
Top 50.
And we got a place in it?
I couldn’t believe it.
My parents came from China 30 years ago not knowing anything about Canada or its culture. When they bought this restaurant 7 years ago, they had no idea how to run it. When I started our social media, I had no idea how to run it. Today, we’re known as a hidden gem in Scarborough.
It was then when I learned the following.
It’s not about the expensive tools you use.
It’s not about where you went to school or what you studied.
It’s about emotional connection.
It’s about being everyone’s favourite.
It’s about having more people in the know about your amazing product.
I would say social media got us 80% of the way there. The rest was up to product, service, blood, sweat, and tears.
