Building creativity is a lot more day-by-day, slow growth than what most people think.
We never hear of a young creative person who finds creative success from day 1. That’s because she doesn’t exist.
A story that’s much more common is a creative person who finds creative success on their 14th year of practicing, 20th year of experimenting, or their 10,000th hour of trying.
We often forget the time people put into their craft before they find their “overnight success”. Similarly, we often forget the time in years we should be giving ourselves before we “make it”.
Let’s give ourselves some patience this time around.
