Asking for a discount in a Western culture like ours implies that you want more for less. You want to be treated better than everyone else around you. And for little reason other than you just want to pay less.
It’s a selfish question to ask. Asking for a discount benefits nobody but yourself.
On the flip side, we can create meaningful customer relationships if we give more value to the right customers looking to be a part of your community, your organization.
Instead of offering just a discount on price, we can take a generous moment to offer an exchange of value where we give more than is expected. More than a discount, we can create chances to build human relationships.
