Mise En Place for Creatives

Going to the grocery store in advance, peeling carrots and potatoes, measuring water, grabbing bowls and knives, boiling eggs, and making sure all your things are in the right place before you even use them.

This is the kind of preparation work that’s very tempting to ignore, because its results are not immediate.

But when you do it, things run smoother, faster, more efficiently.

And when it comes to creative work, the same rule applies.

Are we willing to put in the preparation, the discipline, and the time before we decide that the creative work we do will never bring us the level of success we want?
