Productivity vs. Purpose

Why do productive days get talked about so often?

Is it simply checking things off a to-do list, or can we measure the success of our days with something more purposeful?

When we praise productivity as a list of chores to complete, I’m afraid we forget the other part of doing our work, which is the why we do it in the first place.

It’s one thing to have a productive day, and another one to have a purposeful day. Both are valid and valuable, but they’re not always tied in with each other.
